Abstract:
To provide a gas sensor element and a gas sensor capable of accurately detecting temperature of a detection electrode.SOLUTION: A gas sensor element 2 is used for a gas sensor 1 utilizing mixed potential. The gas sensor element 2 comprises: a solid electrolyte 21 having a first surface 201 and a second surface 202; a detection electrode 22 provided on the first surface of the solid electrolyte and in contact with a detection object gas G; a reference electrode 23 provided in a position of the second surface of the solid electrolyte opposite the detection electrode and in contact with a reference gas A; a temperature detection part 25 provided on the solid electrolyte; an insulator 3 arranged facing the second surface of the solid electrolyte, so as to have a duct 24 for circulating the reference gas between the second surface and the insulator; and a heater 411 arranged together with the insulator and controlled based on the temperature detected by the temperature detection part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
