Abstract:
To reduce damages to the platform front edge due to high temperatures.
The turbine bucket 2 consisting of an aerofoil section 4 and a root section 6, which include a nearly flat platform 8 at the border between them, has a platform cooling structure that comprises cavities 12, 112 extending along the front part of the platform, the source of coolants 14, 15, at least one inlet hole 16, 17, 116 extending to the cavities from 114, and at least one outlet opening 18, 118 for discharging the coolant from the cavities.
