Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a Fe-base heat resistant super alloy for the title nozzle material with superior high temp. corrosion resistance and high temp. ductility which alloy contains a specified ratio of C, Cr, Ni and W and/or Mo.

CONSTITUTION: The Fe-base super alloy consists of, by wt., C 0.2W1, esp. 0.3W 0.6%, Cr 20W40, esp. 25W30%, Ni 15W50, esp. 35W48%, W and/or Mo 5W20, esp. 7W13%, and the balance Fe. Because of its high Cr content this alloy can be manufactured by melting in the air, and the low m.p. of Fe results in superior precision castability. This alloy exhibits high ductility, superior weldability and machinability. In addn., the nozzle material is cheap since it is based on Fe and contains no expensive Co.
