Abstract:
To provide a gas wiping nozzle capable of making pressure variation of a gas blown out of a gas exhaust port smaller than before, and widening the distance between a surface of a steel belt and the gas exhaust port of the nozzle.SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a gas wiping nozzle 10 which adjusts a film thickness of a molten metal film on a steel belt surface, wherein a pressure equalizing chamber 17 where a gas introduced from a gas header chamber 16 flows to a slit type gas exhaust port 11 is provided in a nozzle body 12 comprising the gas exhaust port 11 at a tip part, and also has a width-widened region 18, a tapered region 19 connecting with the width-widened region 18 and gas exhaust port 11, and introduction parts 20, 21 for introducing the gas into the width-widened region 18 from the gas header chamber 16, and a vertically sectional shape of an internal surface 24 of the width-widened region 18 is an arcuate shape which swells toward the introduction parts 20, 21 and has no corner, and so tapered that the interval between opposed internal surfaces 25, 26 forming the tapered region 19 connecting with the internal surface 24 of the width-widened region 18 gradually decrease toward the gas exhaust port 11.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
