The gasifying apparatus for the wastes, etc., is equipped with the following. An upper transporting apparatus 2 provided in the lateral part a little to the upper side of a pyrolysis furnace 1 for carrying in a raw material for gasification, a firegrate 3 installed in the height intermediate part in the pyrolysis furnace 1, a transporting apparatus 4 in the bottom provided in the bottom of the pyrolysis furnace 1 for taking out incombustibles, a top air intake port 5 provided at the top of the pyrolysis furnace 1, a lateral air intake port 6 and a lateral steam intake port 7 provided in the lateral parts of the pyrolysis furnace 1 and below the firegrate 3, an inner cylinder 9 provided through a horizontal partition wall 8 on the lateral inner surface of the pyrolysis furnace 1 and located below the lateral air intake port 6 and the lateral steam intake port 7 in the lateral parts and a gas takeout port 10 provided in the lateral part a little to the lower side of the pyrolysis furnace 1 and located below the horizontal partition wall 8.
