To provide a gasifying melting furnace for waste wherein deterioration of ventilation of a deposition layer formed on a furnace bottom and a displaced flow of gas flowing in the deposition layer are prevented from occurring.
The waste gasifying melting furnace is provided, which includes a furnace bottom section 10 where a blowing twyer 15 for oxygen containing gas is provided, and deposited cokes is combusted to form a high temperature cokes layer 60, and a free board section 11 provided on the furnace bottom section 10. In the waste gasifying melting furnace, a thermal decomposition apparatus (fire grate 23) for thermally decomposing waste is provided on the side of the free board section 11, and a residue of the waste thermally decomposed on the fire grate 23 is supplied onto the high temperature cokes layer 60 on the furnace bottom section 10.
