Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a gasoline composition capable of keeping an intake valve in an internal combustion engine clean, which comprises a major amount of gasoline and a particular amount of a mixture of an oil-soluble polyamine and an oil-soluble hydrocarbyl poly(oxyalkylene) aminocarbamate.
CONSTITUTION: This gasoline composition is obtained by blending a major amount of gasoline with a mixture of (A) an oil-soluble polyamine such as an aliphatic alkylene polyamine which contains one or more olefinic polymer chain attached to a nitrogen atom and/or an alkylene radical connecting an amino nitrogen atom and which has a number-average molecular weight of 600 to 10,000, a Mannich polyamine comprising a condensation product of a high molecular weight of sulfur-free alkyl-substituted hydroxyaromatic compound wherein the alkyl group has a number-average molecular weight of 600 to 10,000, an amine which contains an amino group having one or more active hydrogen atom, and an aldehyde, or mixtures thereof and (B) an oil-soluble hydrocarbyl poly(oxyalkylene) aminocarbamate having a number-average molecular weight of 600 to 10,000, wherein the mixture is present in an amount of 5 to 1,000 ppm.
