Abstract:
PURPOSE:To facilitate maintenance of a gate valve, by adapting the sleeve retainer provided with internal threads to be engaged with the yoke boss portion provided with external threads and applying spot welding between the bottom portion of the sleeve retainer and the flange portion of the yoke boss. CONSTITUTION:The sleeve retainer 14 provided with internal threads on its internal surface is engaged with the yoke boss portion 16 provided with external threads and fixed thereto by spot welding applied at the circumference of the flange portion of the same. Therefore, the gap between the handle 10 and the sleeve retainer 14 can be minimized regardless of the spot welds. Since the yoke boss portion 16 can be made thick enough to bear the compressive load exerting thereon, the same produces no deformation that will prevent rotation of the yoke sleeve 15. Thus, the force from the handle 10 up to the critical load for the valve rod 12 can be transmitted to the valve body.
