To provide a gate which can be easily opened and closed even at snow cover, and can be easily applied to an existing gate at a low cost.
A gate includes a gate body 10 rotatably connected to a gatepost 7, and a folding roof 31 mounted to the front 11 of the gate body 10. The roof 31 has a shape of a triangular pyramid. A rear wall 33 and a front wall 35, and the front wall 35 and a side wall 37 are connected by hinges 39, and the rear wall 33 and the side wall 37 are not connected. The rear wall 33 is fixed to the front 11 of the gate body 10 so that the non-connected side becomes the anti-gatepost side. The roof 31 is assembled before snowfall, whereby a space 51 for opening the gate body 10 is secured in front of the gate body 10 by folding the roof 31 at snow cover to enable opening of the gate body 10 without removing snow.
