To provide a gear finish-machining method causing no flaw on a tooth surface nor a fall of a tool life without lengthening a start/stop time by suppressing intense torque fluctuation due to the restraint of both a workpiece and a cutter caused by nonuniform acceleration/deceleration torque at the start/stop in a synchronous driving system.
In a gear machining method for create-finishing by synchronously driving control motors for driving a gear which is the workpiece, and a cutter or a grinding wheel respectively, at a predetermined synchronization ratio, a gain constant preset in a control system of at least one control motor is changed to set the speed gain of one control motor to a high response or low response compared to the speed gain of the other control motor in order to suppress the restraining torque of both motors at least in acceleration/deceleration.
