Abstract:

PURPOSE: To automatically and suitably mesh a grinding wheel with a workpiece in a gear horning process for processing tooth surfaces of several kinds of gears with the use of a single grindstone.
CONSTITUTION: A grinding wheel dimension computing means 81 computes a grindwheel addendum modification coefficient Xn12 and the grinding wheel twist angle β02 from a center distance axd between a grinding wheel and a dress gear and the axis cross-over angle γd just after tooth face dressing by the grinding wheel. A workpiece processing computing means 83 computes a center distance ax between the workpiece and the grinding wheel and an axis cross-over angle γ for meshing the workpiece with the from the grinding wheel addendum modification coefficient Xn12, the twist angle β02 and the dimensions of the workpiece. A cut-in drive control means 88 and a grinding wheel turning control means 87 control the operations of a cut-in drive motor 44 and a grinding wheel turning motor 40 so as to obtain the center distance ax and the axis cross-over angle γ obtained by the workpiece processing computing means 83.
