Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gear oil composition which satisfies various characteristics such as seizure resistance and abrasion resistance required for gear oil, and improves fuel economy.SOLUTION: There is provided a gear oil composition which contains (A) base oil having kinetic viscosity at 100°C of 4.5-6.5 mm/s, (B) 0.5-2.0 mass% of an SP-based additive containing an alkylphosphorothioate compound and a hydrocarbylamine compound, (C) 1,000-4,000 mass ppm of a calcium-based cleaning agent as a calcium agent, and (D) a triazole derivative, where a content of the ester base oil is 0-40 mass% based on the total amount of the base oil, a sulfur content derived from the (B) component is 270-1,100 mass ppm, a nitrogen content derived from the (B) component is 15-60 mass ppm, a ratio (Ca/P) of the calcium content to the phosphorus content in the gear oil composition is 0.4-2.0, the sulfur content is 1.0 mass% or less, the kinetic viscosity at 40°C is 40 mm/s or less, and a viscosity index is 140 or more.SELECTED DRAWING: None
