Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gear shift control device of a vehicular automatic transmission having a clutch which can enable smooth downhill starting without incompatibility.
SOLUTION: This transmission has a downhill starting determination means and a gear shift stage control means. The downhill starting determination means determines downhill starting of a car by sensing idling running of the car when an acceleration pedal is not operated and a clutch is disconnected. The gear shift stage control means holds a specified stage of the gear shift in an automatic mode and holds the stage according to the will of a driver when downhill starting is determined by the downhill starting determination means. It also has gear shift regulation means for regulation shifting to a target stage (S38, S40) when the gear shift mode is switched from a manual mode to an automatic mode (D range in S34) and the target gear shift stage is smaller than a specified stage or the stage according to the driver's will.
