Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a geared motor for driving an electric wheelchair low in cost with high performance while achieving lightweight, compact, silent and low vibration characteristics at the same time.
SOLUTION: In a driving device 24 for the electric wheelchair 20 driving an axle 32 by the power of a DC motor 26, the DC motor 26 is disposed with its motor shaft 26A pointing in a right-angled direction to the axle 32, and a hypoid reduction mechanism having a hypoid pinion 34 and a hypoid gear 40 is interposed between the motor shaft 26A and the axle 32.
