Abstract:
To provide a gel former which has film formability and is useful as an impregnating agent and which comprises acid ammonium phosphate and a reaction product of boric acid with an alkanolamine at a specific ratio, and further aluminum and an alkali metal.
An objective former is obtained by preparing (A) acid aluminum phosphate, and (B) a reaction product obtained by reaction between boric acid and an alkanolamine wherein components A and B are present at a ratio by weight of 100:50 to 100:0.5 when calculated as solids, and adding 50 to 70 wt.% of alkali metal compound to the reaction product at 10 to 100°C.
