PURPOSE: An aqueous gel pharmaceutical, obtained by incorporating a clindamycin derivative with a wetting agent, carboxylvinyl polymer which is a viscosity increasing agent, lower alcohol, neutralizing agent and water in a specific proportion, highly convenient for handling and having improved feeling of use, remedial effect on pimple, etc.

CONSTITUTION: A gel prmaceutical for external use obtained by incorporating 0.1W10wt%, expressed in terms of clindamycin, clindamycin expressed the the formula with 5W30wt% wetting agent, e.g. PEG, 0.1W5wt% carboxyvinyl polymer, 5W50wt% 1W3C lower alcohol, neutralizing agent for adjusting pH and water in an adequate amount. Since the carboxyvinyl polymer which is a gelling and viscosity increasing agent acts effectively, the pharmaceutical is more conveniently used than the conventional drug for external use, and the aimed aqueous gel pharmaceutical having improved feeling of use and percutaneous absorbability is obtained. The pharmaceutical can be effectively used for pimple (common acne), impetigo, folliculitis, etc.
