PURPOSE: To obtain a mothproofing agent by filling a drug gel consisting of a liquid mothproof insecticide volatile at ordinary temperature, a gelling agent and hydrocarbon-based solvent in an inner container provided with a nonwoven fabric in one side part, directing the surface of the nonwoven fabric downward or obliquely downward and housing the inner container in an outer container.
CONSTITUTION: A gel type mothproofing agent consisting of a liquid mothproof insecticide [e.g. (R,S)-1-ethyl-2-methylpent-2-enyl(1R)-cis,trans-chrysanthemate], a gelling agent, such as 12-hydroxystearic acid, and a hydrocarbon-based solvent (preferably aliphatic hydrocarbon). The afore-mentioned mothproofing agent is used in a form in which the above-mentioned drug gel (G) is filled in an inner container 1 so as to bring the gel into contact with a nonwoven fabric 2 and the inner container 1 is then housed in an outer container 3 having through-hole parts 4 so that the surface of the nonwoven fabric 2 may be tilted downward or obliquely downward. Although the volume of the above-mentioned drug gel is reduced with time, the drug gel is always brought into contact with the nonwoven fabric to provide stable sustained release properties by own weight thereof.
