Title:
GELLED GLYCERIN COMPOSITION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2015048476
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To meet the demand for a gel devoid of viscoelasticity such as a brain model material, etc. used for surgery and cannulation practices and to provide a gelled composition having eliminated shortcomings of conventional gelled polyalcohol compositions prone to separation at a high temperature and deficient in terms of long-term stability.SOLUTION: It was discovered that, if a glycyrrhizinic acid diester expressed by the formula (1) is dissolved into glycerin at an appropriate ratio and then left unattended over a specified period, the glycerin solution of the glycyrrhizinic acid diester is gelled. This gel has, unlike gelatin or agar, an attribute of the absence of temperature sensitivity. In other words, it is not re-liquefied even under high-temperature conditions. The present gel, furthermore, is devoid of viscoelasticity and therefore has potential attributes as a brain model material for which food jellies, etc. are being currently used for the lack of alternatives. It also has a long-term stability and is usable as a polyalcohol gel usable in fields of cosmetics, etc.
