Title:
GENE INVOLVED IN FLOWER FORMATION IN PLANT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH11318462
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To obtain a new protein consisting of a specific amino acid sequence, capable of modifying a way of formation of flowers and suitable in the field of agriculture and gardening.

This new protein is a protein consisting of an amino acid sequence of formula I or a protein having an amino acid sequence wherein one or plural amino acids is (are) substituted, deleted or added in the above protein and having functions equivalent to those of the protein consisting of the amino acid sequence of formula I. This new protein is encoded by a DNA hybridizable with a DNA consisting of a base sequence of formula II and has functions equivalent to those of the protein consisting of the amino acid sequence of formula I. Preferably, this new protein is produced by culturing transformed cells containing a vector integrated with a DNA encoding this new protein, and plants containing transformed plant cells having the DNA encoding this new protein, with the formation of flowers modified, are prepared.
