To allow a passenger to use a handrail in a very sanitary manner than ever before, by continuously injecting antiseptic solution to remove contaminants on the handrail during operation of the handrail.
In a germicidal disinfectant solution injection device for a handrail of an escalator, a body thereof is formed to be in close contact with the moving handrail. A tank for storing and containing the antiseptic solution therein is housed in the body. The antiseptic solution contained in the tank is discharged into a tube, by pressure generated by operation of a pump connected integrally with the tank. While discharged into the tube and immediately supplied to a sponge placed on a recessed discharge groove formed to an upper cover of the body, the antiseptic solution is applied on a surface of the handrail, so as to disinfect and kill bacteria at the same time.
