PURPOSE: In an electrode lead for a fluorescent lamp, to coat the getter uniformly on the entire circumference of the lead wire by making a V-shaped groove in a sponge at the portion contacting with the lead wire then coating the impregnated getter solution on the surface of the lead wire.

CONSTITUTION: When pressing the tip of a getter impregnating sponge 1' against a lead wire 3 as shown on the drawing by making a V-shaped groove with an interval (L) same with that of the lead wire 3, the lead wire 3 will enclose the sponge to adhere the getter layer 4' onto the entire circumference of the lead wire 3. The lead wire 3 will never deform because of the V-shaped groove thus to prevent the dripping of the getter.
