PURPOSE: To improve the synchronizing separation capability by providing a means revising a clamp level of a synchronizing separator circuit connecting to a pre-stage of an A/D converter depending on a state of a GCR signal to the elimination device.
CONSTITUTION: The device is so configurated that a D/A converter 21 connecting to a CPU 16 is provided and an output of the D/A converter 21 connects to a clamp circuit 19 so as to revise a clamp voltage. The D/A converter 21 varies,e.g., four clamp levels under the control of the CPU 16. When the CPU 16 starts ghost elimination, for example, a slice level 3 is given as a default, a synchronizing separation output is obtained. In this case, when no GCR signal is detected, the clamp level is changed in a proper order to move the slice level and the level is fixed to a position at which the GCR signal is detected.
