Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress degradation of the shaft sealing function of a labyrinth packing due to the thermal effect of the gland steam of a gland packing device combined with a rear bearing of an axial-flow exhaust turbine, and to improve the maintainability.
SOLUTION: A shaft seal steam chamber 10d, a gland steam chamber 10e, and plenum steam chambers 10f, 10g are demarcated in a gland packing casing 10 (10a, 10b) in which a labyrinth type gland packing part 8 assembled with a rear bearing 7 and installed in an exhaust casing 3 is of upper and lower two-split structure. The steam chambers are formed in an area of the same radius R with an upper casing 10a and the lower casing 10b of the gland packing casing, upper and lower split casings are coupled with each other through a horizontal split joint, the upper casing 10a and the lower casing 10b are coupled with an end face of a bearing stand of the rear bearing by bolts 12 through a vertical joint, and a shaft seal steam pipe 14 and a gland steam pipe 15 to be communicated with the plenum steam chambers are connected to each other through a flange joint.
