Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a glass compsn. for parts of glass lamps not contg. toxic components, such as lead by formulating SiO2, Al2O3, Li2O, Na2O, K2O, MgO, CaO, SrO and BaO at specific ratios.
CONSTITUTION: The glass compsn. for glass lamps is obtd. by formulating the raw material components so as to obtain constitution components expressed by weight % 60 to 72 SiO2, 1 to 5 Al2O2, 0.5 to 1.5 Li2O, 5 to 9 Na2O, 3 to 7 K2O, 1 to 2 MgO, 1 to 3 CaO, 1 to 5 SrO and 7 to 11 BaO (0.02 to 0.05 Fe2O3 is added according to applications). This compsn. does not contain the components PbO, B2O3, F, As2O3 and Sb2O3, having defects in terms of toxicity, etc. Fig. diagramatically shows the perspective view of the stem 1 of the electric bulb. This stem 1 has a flare 3, a current supply conductor 5 of a copper coated wire, a discharge tube 7 and a filament 9. The flame 3 and the discharge tube 7 consists of the glass having the compsn. of this invention.
