Abstract:

To provide a glass fiber manufacturing apparatus capable of winding a glass fiber on a rotatable collet in a proper state so as not to impart a damage to the glass fiber.

This glass fiber manufacturing apparatus includes a bushing 10, a shoe 41 into which a glass fiber S is introduced, a rotatable collet 60 on which the glass fiber S is wound, and a traverse 51 driven by a scroll cam 55 so as to be reciprocated as long as the winding width c of the rotatable collet 60. The apparatus further includes an actuator 45 for reciprocating the shoe 41 in parallel with the axis of the rotatable collet 60, and a control means 70 for controlling the actuator 45, wherein, when winding a glass fiber S on the rotatable collet 60, the control means 70 synchronizes the actuator 45 with the scroll cam 55 so that a traveling direction of the glass fiber S guided to the rotatable collet 60 becomes vertical to the axis X.
