To provide a glass fiber manufacturing apparatus capable of reducing damage to glass fibers when performing replacement work of a rotatable collet, and manufacturing a high-quality glass fiber product continuously and efficiently without cutting.
An apparatus includes a bushing 10 for discharging molten glass and forming a plurality of glass fiber monofilaments F, a shoe 41 into which a glass fiber S formed by bunching a plurality of glass fiber monofilaments F is introduced, a rotatable collet 60 on which the glass fiber S is wound, a temporary winding part 61 provided coaxially with the side of the rotatable collet 60, and a pushing means 70 for moving the glass fiber S from the rotatable collet 60 to the temporary winding part 61. When replacing a rotatable collet 60 on which the glass fiber S is wound, the pushing means 70 is pressed onto the side of the glass fiber S guided by the rotatable collet 60 to move the glass fiber S to the temporary winding part 61, and a control means 80 controls an actuator 45 so that the shoe 41 is interlocked with the pushing means 70.
