PURPOSE: To provide the titled compsn. having excellent heat resistance, mechanical strength, etc., by blending a specified graft modified poly-4-methyl-1-pentene and glass fiber with poly-4-methyl-1-pentene.
CONSTITUTION: 20W0.01pt.wt. graft modified poly-4-methyl-1-pentene (A) which has an intrinsic viscosity of 0.3W10dl/g, an MW distribution of pref. 1W8, a m.p. of 170W245°C a degree of crystallinity of 1W45% and in which the quantity of a grafted unsaturated carboxyic acid (anhydride) component unit such as acrylic acid, fumaric acid, maleic anhydride, etc. is 0.5W15wt%, is blended with 80W 99.99wt% poly-4-methyl-1-pentene(B). 1W300pts.wt. glass fiber is blended with 100pts.wt. mixture of components A and B to obtain the desired glass fiber- reinforced poly-4-methyl-1-pentene compsn.
