PURPOSE: To form a glas globe with no strain by introducing remaining heat generated in a furnace into a cover with one end opened and by slowly cooling a glass globe in the cover.

CONSTITUTION: Remaining heat generated in a furnace is introduced into cover 12 from one end and discharfed from opening 12a at the other end. Cover 12 is internally provided with fixed member 13 made of material of low heat conductivity and conveyor belt 15 turning in the direction of arrow 14 in parallel with member 13. Glass globe 18 molded in a metal mold is separated from a tube, and cullet 18a of globe 18 is held between member 13 and belt 15. While being conveyed in the direction of arrow 19, globe 18 is naturally cooled with the heat to a temp. below the strain point of glass and dropped into storage case 20.
