Abstract:
A method of grinding a surface of a glass workpiece is reported which includes (a) contacting a grinding layer of an abrasive article (10) with the surface of the glass workpiece, the grinding layer comprising a plurality of abrasive composites (11), the composites (11) comprising an organic resin, a metal salt selected from alkali metal salts, alkaline metal salts and combinations thereof, and single diamond abrasive particles dispersed homogeneously throughout said abrasive composites (11); (b) introducing a lubricant between the grinding layer of the abrasive article (10) and the surface of the glass workpiece; and (c) moving the grinding layer of the abrasive article (10) and the surface of the glass workpiece relative to one another.
