To obtain a glass substrate capable of giving a lightweight, thin and electrically conductive substrate small in deflection by forming a projecting part at the peripheral part of a rectangular region on one main surface of a glass base material having two main surfaces.
The rectangular projecting part 7 is formed on the peripheral part of a part 8 corresponding to a display area part on one main surface of the glass base material 4 having two main surfaces. It is preferable to control the ratio of the thickness of the projecting part 7 to the thickness of the glass base material 4 except the projecting part 7 to (0.2-1):1. Next, a transparent conductive layer 5 is formed on another main surface of the glass base material 4 to produce the transparent electrically conductive substrate 1. As a result, the lightweight, thin and electrically conductive substrate 1 small in deflection is produced. In such a case, a laminated glass having an intermediate film can be used and as the intermediate film, a fluororesin film having excellent heat resistance such as polychlorofluoroethylene, tetrafluoroethylene-ethylene copolymer is adequately used.
