Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glow plug that can reduce molten salt corrosion of a heat generating part of a ceramic heater, and to provide an internal combustion engine that can reduce molten salt corrosion of the heat generating part of the ceramic heater of the glow plug.SOLUTION: An internal combustion engine 1 includes: an internal combustion engine body 3 having a ground potential; and a glow plug 100 attached to the internal combustion engine body 3. The glow plug 100 has a ceramic heater 20 including a heat generating part 22 disposed inside a combustion chamber 4 of the internal combustion engine body 3. A surface 22b of the heat generating part 22 of the ceramic heater 20 is covered by a conductivity coat 11 having a positive potential relative to the ground potential.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
