Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glow plug, temperature characteristics of which are made unlikely to change even if a force in an axial direction is applied to a middle shaft, by attaching/detaching an external connection terminal of a power supply cable to/from the glow plug.SOLUTION: A glow plug 2 comprises: a heater coil 11 which consists of a metal and extends in an axial direction DX; a rod-like metallic middle shaft 26 which is positioned at a proximal end side XK of the heater coil in the axial direction and extends in the axial direction, the middle shaft including a coil connection part which is positioned at a distal end in the axial direction and connected with the heater coil; a bottomed cylindrical sheath tube 21 which consists of a metal and in which a portion of the middle shaft at a distal end side XS in the axial direction and a distal end side in the axial direction surrounding the heater coil are closed; and an insulation powder 28 filling the inside of the sheath tube. In the middle shaft, a held part 26h which is positioned adjacently to the proximal end side of a coil connection part 26s in the axial direction and surrounded by the insulation powder is formed to be engaged with the insulation powder in the axial direction, and held by the sheath tube via the insulation powder.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
