Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ease power transmitted to a ceramic heater from an intermediate shaft.SOLUTION: A glow plug includes a main body metal fitting, an outer cylinder, a ceramic heater, an intermediate shaft, and a packing. The intermediate shaft includes one or more constricted portions extending along a direction of axis and having a plurality of groove portions formed over a circumferential direction of the intermediate shaft on an outer peripheral face of the intermediate shaft in a state of being arranged in the direction of axis. The following formula (formula 1) is satisfied when an axial distance between a first position as a center position in the direction of axis, of a contact part of the packing and an outer peripheral face of the intermediate shaft, and a second position as a position at a most rear end side of a contact part of the ceramic heater and the outer cylinder is La, a distance in the direction of axis between the first position and a tip of the constricted portion at a most tip side, of one or more constricted portions is Lb, and an outer diameter at the second position, of the ceramic heater is Da.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
