PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glow plug in which a heating element is fixed to a desired position at a tip of a cylindrical body.SOLUTION: In a melting portion 891, a radial distance F from an outermost side of a first heating element cross section 901 positioned at a rearmost end of a cross section of a heating coil 820 disposed at one side of an axis, to an innermost side of a base material portion 893 is within 0.200 mm. That is, a distance F between a straight line L1 drawn in an axial direction from an outermost side of the first heating element cross section 901 and a straight line L2 drawn in an axial direction from an innermost side of the base material portion 893 is within 0.200 mm. Further in the melting portion 891, a radial distance G from an outermost side of a second heating element cross section 902 positioned at a rearmost end of the cross section of the heating coil 820 disposed at the other side of the axis to the innermost side of the base material portion 893 is within 0.200 mm. That is, a distance G between a straight line L3 drawn in an axial direction from an outermost side of a second heating element cross section 902 and a straight line L4 drawn in an axial direction from the innermost side of the base material portion 893 is within 0.200 mm.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
