Abstract:
To suppress a thermal load on a connection part connecting an exposure part of a lead and an outer cylinder, in a ceramic heater.SOLUTION: A glow plug (1) comprises a ceramic heater (10), and an outer cylinder (20) housing a part of the ceramic heater (10) so that at least a tip of the ceramic heater (10) is exposed. The outer cylinder (20) has a cylindrical tip part (22) connected to the ceramic heater (10) through a connection part (21), and a cylindrical base end part (23) connected to a rear end of the tip part (22). An outer peripheral surface of the base end part (23) is flush with an outer peripheral surface of the tip part (22), or is positioned at the outside of the outer peripheral surface of the tip part (22) with respect to a central axial line of the outer cylinder (20). An inner peripheral surface of the base end part (23) is positioned on the inner peripheral surface of the tip part (22) with respect to the central axial line.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
