Abstract:
To provide a glow plug in which airtightness of a holding hole of a housing and corrosion resistance of an outer circumferential surface of the housing can be kept high.SOLUTION: A glow plug 1 comprises a ceramic heater 3 comprising, in the outer circumferential surface 301 thereof. a metallized layer 35, and a holding outer cylinder 2A having a holding hole 21A for holding the ceramic heater 3. The holding hole 21A comprises an inner peripheral-side plating layer 28. The ceramic heater 3 and the holding outer cylinder 2A are joined by a brazing material 50 in contact with the metallized layer 35 and the inner peripheral-side plating layer 28. An outer circumferential surface 202 of the holding outer cylinder 2A is covered by an outer peripheral-side plating layer 29 provided in a surface of a stainless material not covered by a passive film.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
