Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a glucoprotein subjecting to an antigen-antibody reaction with a blood transmission type non-A non-B type hepatitis virus serum, a combined vaccine virus expressing the glucoprotein, a method for producing the glucoprotein with the vaccinia virus, and a diagnostic agent for the hepatitis virusinfectious diseases.

CONSTITUTION: A cDNA coding an amino acid sequence or an amino acid sequence having the same antigenicity as the amino acid sequence is transduced into a vaccinia virus by a recombination operation to obtain a recombined vaccinia virus, which is expressed to produce the glucoprotein. The glucoprotein permits to provide a raw vaccine for blood transmission type non-A non-B type hepatitis viruses and to diagnose the presence of the infection of the virus.
