Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glue application device that enhances adhesive strength of a text paper bundle.SOLUTION: A glue application device 40 has an application roller 42 rotating in a state that it is immersed in a glue G, and a linear member 75 provided in plural positions of the application roller in its axial direction along a circumferential direction. The application roller is rotated with a back surface B of a paper bundle PS being brought into contact with a peripheral surface of the application roller. The linear member intrudes into the back surface of a text paper bundle to deform the text papers and form a recessed part 80. Around the recessed part, a clearance appears between the text papers in accordance with the deformation of the text papers, and the glue intrudes between the text papers from the clearance. Adhesion between the text papers configuring the text paper bundle is made rigid, and a completed book hardly causes defects such as back split and missing parts.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
