Abstract:
To provide an apparatus capable of enhancing adhesive strength of paste binding and capable of accelerating a step of temporarily paste binding one end surface of a sheet bundle.SOLUTION: A paste binding apparatus 1 comprises a pasting unit 10, a pasting transport unit 11, and a control unit 12, the pasting unit 10 having an upper gap plate 101 and a lower gap plate 102 that form a pasting gap 100 for applying back paste and horizontal paste, and a slit nozzle 103 for discharging paste from the side of a paste binding surface of a sheet bundle 2 that passes through the pasting gap 100, the pasting transport unit 11 having a transport mechanism that transports the sheet bundle such that the paste binding surface of the sheet bundle 2 passes through the center of the pasting gap 100, and the control unit 12 controlling at least the discharge of paste from the slit nozzle 103 in accordance with a timing at which the paste binding surface of the sheet bundle 2 transported by the pasting transport unit 11 passes through the pasting gap 100 of the pasting unit 10.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
