Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain an antitumor agent having antitumor activity including differentiation-inducing against various kinds of tumor cells containing a glycerin derivative of almost all novel substances.

CONSTITUTION: An antitumor agent containing a compound [e.g. N-2-[2-[(3- octadecyloxy-2-(pyrimidin-2-yloxy) propoxy] ethoxy] ethyl-N,N,N-trimethyl- ammonium chloride] shown by formula I [group shown by formula VI is nitrogen-containing aromatic 6-membered ring; R1 is (substituted) higher alkyl; R2 is tertiary amino or quaternary ammonium; X is bifunctional group shown by the formula -(OCH2CH2)m- (m is 1-3; novel compound when m is 2-3) or bifunctional group shown by the formula -(OCH2)n- (n is 3-8)] or a salt thereof. The compound shown by formula I, for example, is obtained by converting a compound shown by formula II into a compound shown by the formula III, reacting this compound with a compound shown by the formula RSO2Y (R is phenyl; Y and Z are halogen) to give a compound shown by formula IV and converting this compound into a compound shown by formula V.
