NEW MATERIAL:A glycerol derivative expressed by formula I [R1 is higher alkyl; R2 is H, lower alkyl, lower alkanoyl or lower alkylthiocarbamoyl; R3 is N-oxide-tertiary amino; X is -(OCH2CH2)m- (m is 1W4) or -O(CH2)n- (n is 2W12)].
EXAMPLE: 4-[3-(12-Cyclohexyldodecyloxy)-2-methoxypropyloxy]butyl bromide.
USE: A medicinal agent, having antitumor action, selectively acting on cancerous cell membranes, capable of exhibiting controlling activity of cancerous cell membrane function protein, e.g. inhibitory action on biosynthetic enzyme of membrane phospholipid, without side effects, such as blood platelet agglutination or hypotensive action.
PREPARATION: For example, a compound expressed by formula II is reacted with a sulfonyl halide to provide a product, which is then reacted with an amine and then hydrogen peroxide reagent to afford the aimed compound expressed by formula I.
