Abstract:

To provide a new glycocyltransferase and a nucleic acid encoding the same and to provide a new method for detecting canceration of tissues.

The new glycosyltransferase is 1,3-N-acetyl-D-glucosamine glycosyltransferase and contains a polypeptide having a specific amino acid sequence derived from a human or an amino acid sequence in which one or a plurality of amino acids are substituted, deleted or inserted in the amino acid sequence and an activity for transferring an N-acetyl-D-glucosamine residue from an N-acetyl-D-glucosamine donor substrate into an N-acetyl-D-glucosamine receptor substrate.
