Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain Na+-K+ ATPase inhibitor useful for treating ulcer, cardiac incompetence or arrhythmia, containing a glycyrrhetic acid derivative as an active ingredient.
CONSTITUTION: A Na+-K+ ATPase inhibitor containing a compound shown by the formula [A is 3-4C alkylene, 3-4C alkenylene or A and H between nuclei form (CH2)2-CH= or A may be replaced with 1-3C alkyl or 1-3C alkylidene; wavy line shows α- or β-configuration] such as 3-nor-4-isopropylidene-4,4- desmethyl-11-oxo-18β-olean-12-en-30-oic acid as an active ingredient. The compound shows ten to tens times as much inhibitory action as glycyrrhetic or glycyrrhetic acid does.
