The thread wound golf ball is provided with a center and a thread rubber layer in which thread rubber is wound around the center and a cover is put around the thread rubber layer. As a material of the thread rubber, polyurethane elastic fibers obtained by dry spinning are used. As the polyurethane elastic fibers, polyurethane elastomer obtained by making polymer diol such as polyester diol, polyether diol or polycarbonate diol, polyisocyanate and a low molecular chain stretcher, and an end stopper as desired, react can be used.
