PURPOSE: To improve the feeling of stroking a golf ball and the controllability thereof by adding metal hydroxide, carbonate or acetate to the copolymer of a mixture of (meta)acrylic acid and a liquid polybutadiene or liquid acrylonitrile-butadiene copolymer, and then applying heat thereto for preparing a golf ball cover.

CONSTITUTION: In a golf ball comprising a core and a cover for enclosing the core, the cover is prepared by adding 20 to 70mol% of the carboxyl group of an ethylene (meta)acrylic acid copolymer containing 10 to 20wt.% of (meta) acrylic acid to a mixture of metal ion neutralized resin and a liquid polybutadiene having carboxyl groups at both ends of a molecule, or liquid acrylonitrile butadiene copolymer, and applying heat thereto. The cover material so prepared is used to cover the core of the golf ball according to a normal practice, thereby forming the golf ball.
