In a box-shaped swing measuring device to be set before a player when he swings a golf club 13 to hit a golf ball 12, this device is disposed along a side wall part extended roughly parallel to a swing track of a head 14 of the golf club 13 when it is set, and it is provided with a first sensor coil 2 to detect pass of the club head 14 having a permanent magnet 15 at a tip when it passes close to it, a second sensor coil 3 to similarly detect pass of it at a position at a specified distance from the first sensor coil 2 on the side of the golf ball 12, an operation part to determine a swing time required through a back swing and a forward swing and a head speed in swinging based on signals detected by the first and the second sensor coils 2 and 3 and a display part 5 to display the swing time and the head speed.
