PURPOSE: To obtain a golf club containing no noxious substances and generating few deformation due to precipitation hardening, while holding softness and excellent repulsion by using a copper alloy containing a specified amount of nickel and tin and the remaining copper alloy comprising copper and inevitable impurities for a head.
CONSTITUTION: A copper alloy constituting a head is a spinodal reinforced copper alloy hardly deformed during heat treatment for hardening and having a spinodal reinforcing property. This copper alloy uses a material containing no noxious component like beryllium and has a satisfactory cast molding property and approximately the same elastic modulus as beryllium copper alloy. It is of particular component system such as Cu-Ni-Sn system containing 5-25% nickel, 4-8% tin and 1-20% zinc and Cu-Ni-Sn-Zn system in weight %. Thus, no noxious fume like beryllium oxide is generated in casting and the fluidity in casting is preferable without any deformation in age hardening. Also, it has a proper elastic modulus so that the control of shooting a ball is facilitated.
