Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a gall-nut extract acting as a UV-B filter, having an antiradical; activity and useful for protecting skins from solar light. CONSTITUTION: This gall-nut extract contains ellagic acid, gallic acid and hydrolyzable tannin. The gallic acid and the hydrolyzable tannin are contained in amounts of 1.5-7wt.% and 65-85wt.%, respectively, based on powder in the case of dried extracts and based on solid contents in the case of liquids or diluted extracts.
