PURPOSE: To provide a GPS receiving apparatus which can correct measuring errors when the combination of satellites used in measuring the position is changed.

CONSTITUTION: The GPS receiving apparatus is provided with an operating means 2 for operating the self position from signals received from GPS satellites, a memory means 3 for storing the positional data operated by the operating means 2, and a display means 6 for displaying the positional data stored in the memory means 3. Moreover, a monitoring means 4 for monitoring the change of the combination of GPS satellites used when the position is operated, and a correcting means 5 for correcting the positional data stored in the memory means 3 when the change of the combination of the satellites is detected by the monitoring means 4 are provided. If the combination of the satellites used when the position is measured is changed and the measured positional data is greatly shifted, positional data at this time is predicted on the basis of the moving direction and the moving speed of the self position operated from tone precedent positional data, and the positional data stored in the memory means 3 is replaced with the predicted value.
