Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an inappropriate wood from being previously cut by judging whether or not the wood can be used as a building member for a position where it is applied based on the characteristic value of the wood measured and precutting the wood when it is judged that the wood can be used.
SOLUTION: Every piece of a wood is measured prior to precutting using a special measuring means 12 as regards the characteristics of the wood such as the bend, moisture content and strength of the wood. Next it is judged with the help of a judging means 21 whether the measured characteristic value is determinant for the wood to be used at a region where it is supported to be in the light of previously stored comparative data. Further, when it is judged that the wood cannot be used, the judging means 21 issues a command not to convey the wood to a precutting means 22 and works otherwise. The wood which is judged to be usable as a building member in every region where it is supposed to be, is previously cut in a way such as cutting, holding, grooving or edge fabricating using the precutting means 22. Thus it is possible to prevent the inappropriate wood from being previously cut.
